Summer 2012 – Our orthopaedic surgeons at Bone and Joint are now providing outpatient surgery services at Capital City Surgery Center. This Center is an independent, fully-licensed Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) providing multi-specialty outpatient surgical services to Triangle area residents. This state-of-the-art facility provides the highest quality and convenient outpatient surgery options for patients, in a much more cost-effective setting than a hospital setting.  Patients receiving outpatient surgery at this Center will have signifiantly lower deductibles and co-pays than they would at a hospital. The Center adheres to some of the most rigid quality control standards in the country, as evidenced by the Medicare Certification and adherence to guidelines established by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

Dr. David Jones will be at Fleet Feet Sports in Raleigh on Thursday, March 22 at 7:00pm to share his knowledge and wisdom about running related injuries. He will discuss known and proven injury prevention techniques, as well as some of the myths you may have heard about injury prevention. The seminar is free and will be approximately an hour long.

December 2011- Dr. Jones, who is part of our orthopaedic physician team just launched a website dedicated to educating patients about hip arthroscopy.  Dr. Jones is one of a few doctors in the Triangle who preforms hip arthroscopy which requires specialized training and years of experience.  This procedure is minimally invasive and does not involve a large incision allowing the patient to go home the same day as their surgery.

November 2011 – Dr. Burroughs wrote a great article for Midtown Magazine, Nov/ Dec 2011 issue!  On page 144 you’ll find his article “Amazing Advances in Knee Replacements”.  Read about the latest advances in total & partial knee replacements, cartilage treatments and pain management.

October 20011 – Dr. Idler is a fellowship trained orthopaedic spine surgeon with training in a variety of surgical procedures including minimally invasive and structure sparing techniques, cervical and lumbar discreplacements, lateral approaches and percutaneous techniques that significantly reduce tissue damage during surgery.  His approach to treating patients with spinal dysfunction includes a comprehensive evaluation of their problem and clear explanation of their diagnosis with the goal of educating the patient on all aspects of their condition as well as expected outcomes of their various treatment options.

July 2011 – Our physician, Dr. Burroughs was quoted for the informative article, “Your Fabulous Feet” found on page 49 in the July/ Aug 2011 issue of Midtown Magazine.  He offers tips on preventing foot pain, wearing the right shoes to make you feel better and training advice to athletes.

April 2011 –  We are excited to announce we are now league physicians for Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) sports medicine. We are looking forward to being a resource for the soccer athletes, coaches, and parents for injury prevention and sports medicine.
